เมื่อวันที่ 27 กันยายน 2561 คณะกรรมาธิการยุโรปได้ประกาศ Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2018/1295 approving the basic substance Onion oil in accordance with Regulation (EC) No 1107/2009 of the European Parliament and of the Council concerning the placing of plant protection products on the market, and amending the Annex to Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) No 540/2011 ใน EU Official Journal L 243/7 สรุปสาระสำคัญของประกาศดังกล่าว ดังนี้
- คณะกรรมาธิการยุโรปอนุญาตให้ใช้น้ำมันหอมหัวใหญ่ (onion oil) เป็นสารตั้งต้น (Basic Substance) ในผลิตภัณฑ์อารักขาพืช (Plant Protection Products) โดยมีผลตั้งแต่วันที่ 17 ตุลาคม 2561 เป็นต้นไป
- กฎระเบียบดังกล่าวมีผลบังคับใช้ 20 วัน หลังจากที่ประกาศใน EU Official Journal (ประกาศในวันที่ 27 กันยายน 2561)
